If you have ever been involved in making a record or even watched a making of documentary, you will understand what a mammoth task it actually is. Well apparently not for Omar Rodriguez Lopez. Along with his label, Ipecac Records, Omar has announced that he will be releasing a new album every two weeks for the next six months, Huge!

If you have never heard of Omar Rodriguez Lopez, you may have heard of his band The Mars Volta? Well… if you’re a fan of The Mars Volta this is why you should be so excited about this particular album, Arañas en La Sombra. Because it features the entire original line up of The Mars Volta and John Frusciante of The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Sung entirely in Spanish, the fast paced grooves and frantic guitar licks that made The Mars Volta are definitely back in business. It’s an album to rock out to big time. With a pretty Lo Fi sound to the record it is once again their instrumental prowess and creative approach to song writing that makes this album great. It does what The Mars Volta always did best. Take you on an epic musical exploration that get you lost before jolting you into remembering how utterly inadequate you are at guitar.

Omar’s next release comes out on 9/9/16, to follow the project check out his website here for more info about the project and release dates.
